Ingredients

  • 50ml scotch whisky
  • 50ml sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Lemon zest - to garnish
  • Ice

How to make

  1. Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir
  2. Strain into an old-fashioned glass
  3. Garnish with a piece of lemon zest

Whisky Mac

A Whisky Mac, or to use its full name, a Whisky Macdonald, is a cocktail made with whisky and ginger wine. The whisky is traditional expected to be a Scotch whisky, and usually a blended type. The recipes vary from those that have equal parts of both ingredient to those that use a ratio of 3 to 2 of whisky to ginger wine.

The Whisky Mac is also known as "The Golfers′ Favourite" as apparently golfers drank them to ward off the cold after a chilly round of golf.

Fairbank View cocktail Recipe

Fairbank

Named after Senator Fairbank, a personal friend of the late President Roosevelt, of America.  The crème de noyeaux (almond-flavoured crème liqueur made from apricot kernels), gives the cocktail its reddish/pinkish hue.
