Named after the Ivy League college of the same name, the recipe for a Harvard Cocktail was first published by George Kappeler in his 1895 Modern American Drinks.

Ingredients

  • 35ml brandy
  • 35ml sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash sugar syrup
  • Orange zest - to garnish
  • Ice

How to make

  1. Stir all the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice
  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  3. Garnish with a piece of orange zest
